What are we doing here?

This site began as a blog about Philadelphia sports. To many, Philadelphia is not thought of as being overly positive about their sports teams and to be fair, there is a certain degree of truth to that. But yet, game after game, season after season, Philadelphia sports fans root for and follow their teams. Why? Because deep down, even in “Negadelphia”, there is the natural sense of human optimism and persistence. And so, this site was originally going to share news and opinions on the small glimmers of hope that we could find in Philadelphia sports.

As you can see from the rarity of posting, life got in the way of giving this little corner of the web much attention.

But now, in the Spring of 2020, in the midst of a pandemic reaching all corners of this world, not just the Philadelphia area, we are facing significant amounts of bad news on an hourly basis, and it’s not as if the news before the pandemic began was all “unicorns and rainbows”.

Clearly, bad news sells, otherwise, media outlets wouldn’t feature so much of it. That said, it is our belief that people need to be aware of current events, both good and bad.

So in this space, we are only going to feature good news, without any political agenda. There’s no denying there is bad news because the world really isn’t all “unicorns and rainbows”, but that doesn’t mean we should let it overwhelm the good news.

Hopefully, what you find here brings a smile to your face and reminds you of the persistence of the human spirit.
